This policy explains what information Sendum collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to provide and improve the product.
Who we are
Sendum (sendum.io) is operated by Michael Bell, based in London, United Kingdom. For any privacy question, email michael@sendum.io.
Information we collect
Account details such as your name, email address and company, and the information you choose to add to Sendum. We also collect basic product usage data so we can keep the service reliable and improve it.
How we use it
To provide Sendum, create and manage outreach on your behalf, support your account, improve the product, and send important service updates. We do not sell personal information.
Google account data
If you connect your Google account, Sendum accesses Gmail only to send the emails you approve, read replies to those emails, and send a weekly test email to Sendum's own test inboxes to check your emails reach the inbox. We do not use Gmail data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Sendum's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can disconnect Google at any time in Sendum's settings or in your Google account.
Outreach data
When you add prospects or connect data, that information is used to create and send outreach on your behalf. You remain responsible for the data you upload and for making sure your outreach complies with applicable laws.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Sendum: Railway (hosting), MongoDB Atlas (database), Google (email, when you connect it), Anthropic (to draft emails and analyse replies; your content is not used to train their models), Apollo (a business contact database, to find and verify prospects' work emails), and Cloudinary (hosts your signature photo, if you add one). They may only use information to provide services to us, under appropriate safeguards.
Retention and security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. For a plain-English summary of where your data is stored, who can see it and how to delete it, see our security page.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or ask us to stop processing it where the law gives you that right. Email michael@sendum.io. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the date at the top.
